Safeguarding

We are fully committed to the safeguarding of our pupils and promoting their wellbeing. If young people feel happy and secure in their environment they are much more likely to achieve their academic potential. To this end we explore many safeguarding themes through our PSHE programme and our ‘Thought for the Week.’

Our Safeguarding Policy provides clear direction regarding our expectations in dealing with child protection issues. It also sets out our commitment to the development of good practice and sound procedures to ensure that concerns are handled sensitively and professionally.

All our staff are trained in Child Protection and Safeguarding and are aware of the procedures and protocols to follow. If any member of the school or local community have any concerns about the welfare of a child in the school they should bring them to Designated Child Protection Team at the school.

At Y Pant our Designated Child Protection Officer is Mrs S Burnell and the Deputy Child Protection Officer is Mr W. Abdo.
